Sometime in bull market, the euphoria lets our guard down, because the massive reward from risk taking. The 21-22 bull market has lasted unnaturally too long.

Back in my days as a crypto investor/speculator from 2017, I suffered greatly from the 18-19 crypto winter trading altcoins because two things

1⃣ I didn’t pay attention to the macro economy,
2⃣ I went all in. That bear market set me back 95%.

I was particular disturbed in mid-2022 because based on my single crypto winter experience and hunch, the market should have already crushed by then. The crush didn’t happen, though we started to prepare for bear market anyway since June, we started to install a budget reviewing procedure and reduced our operational cost, halted on all marketing cost that does not yield positive revenue.

We also started to review everyone’s performance, restructuring to make operation more effective, stopped aggressive hiring, and BD is focused on positive revenue instead of hypes building. We have completed our bear market preparation in early Oct.

If one thing I miscalculated, is the expectation that things will get better toward the end of this year from macro economy analysis. As most development take time, Rainbow Sneaker and GMT earning was decided to go live in Sep around 4 months ago with expectation of a net-positive market condition, I want to give a minimum of 5 months good GMT earning experience to our users.

But the general market wasn’t as strong as I thought in Oct and we had to take the backup plan of Rainbow Sneaker out – a more aggressive Sneaker burning mechanics that will make GST/GMT earning Sneaker burning/minting balanced.

The release was sooner than we thought, and this means we need fast track on the new products to make use of the additional GMT.

@mooarofficial release schedule was pushed forward, featuring a GMT staking mechanics that does not provide extra token yield but right to mint NFTs.

With the fall of Luna (Anchor protocol), Celsius, Voyager and Block-Fi today, earning passively by staking might become a history.

@mooarofficial is exploring a better way to stake and we will continue refine our mechanics as we go.

I feel it should be a routine to all of us to constantly remind ourselves about what has happened in the past few months, so next time, we will stay clear of our mind. Market predicting can be wrong, and one should always prepare for the worst.
